Michael “Mike” Holmstrom, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who focuses on knee surgery, arthroscopy, and joint replacement at Intermountain Health’s TOSH Clinic in Murray, Utah. He supports patients across the valley, with a passion for helping them stay active and enjoy the things they love. He completed his fellowship at the University of Utah Sports Medicine and Primary Children's Medical Center, honing his expertise in the field. Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Holmstrom is passionate about humanitarian work, having undertaken multiple trips to Nepal with Youthlinc, where he served as the medical lead. Dr. Holmstrom's clinical focus centers on all things related to the knee. He treats a wide range of conditions, including knee arthritis, ACL tears, meniscal tears, and patellar issues. His procedures include total knee arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, patellar realignment, and meniscus repairs. Dr. Holmstrom's philosophy of care is simple — he wants to help patients live their lives to the fullest. Whether that means returning to an active lifestyle or finding relief from chronic pain, he is committed to getting his patients the care they need. His linguistic talents extend beyond medicine: He is fluent in written and spoken Norwegian and possesses moderate proficiency in Spanish. Originally from New York, Dr. Holmstrom enjoys skiing, mountaineering, biking, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and scuba diving, and spending time with his family — including his wonderful grandchildren.
